When applied to a dog barking in the crate early morning, every time you wake up and give your dog any form of attention by taking the puppy out or scolding the puppy when he’s actively barking, you will be adding fuel to the fire. the barking behavior will persist and become more difficult to eventually extinguish.. Many puppy owners inadvertently reinforce the barking- in- the- crate behavior. puppies are fast to learn that their barking brings attention. if every time your puppy barks, you rush to him talk to him sooth him and perhaps even feel sorry and open the crate, your puppy will have learned that barking gets you closer and grants him freedom..
